From Blueprint to Frame: How an Alabama Architect Built an Independent Media Empire

DLHERO Studios 501(c)(3) Positions as Hollywood’s Educational Entertainment Nonprofit Bridging the Gap Between Community, Creativity, and Truth

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a media landscape dominated by corporate consolidation and algorithmic content, DLHERO Studios is building something different: a vertically integrated, independently owned educational entertainment ecosystem — from the ground up, out of the South, and funded by conviction.

Founded by Joshua Robert Castaneda — known professionally as REVJC — DLHERO Studios is a Washington D.C.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit producing educational puppet programming, public service announcements, multilingual music, and free-speech documentary film. Its flagship production, KANEH MOVIE: Rapture@420, is an award-winning free-speech documentary comedy now streaming on DLHERO.com, with Amazon Prime Video distribution in development.

Castaneda’s origin story is itself a testament to the mission he now leads. Growing up in Alexandria, Alabama, he wanted to study animation and film — but in a small Southern town in the early 2000s, those programs weren’t available. What was available was architectural drafting. So he enrolled at Calhoun County Career Technical Center and later Ayers State Technical College in Anniston, Alabama, earning an Associate of Arts in Architectural Drafting and Design. He mastered AutoCAD. He learned to build things that didn’t exist yet — on paper, with precision, for a purpose.

CAD work paid the bills for years — architectural surveys, topographic drafts, engineering system designs, product design for Ricardo of Beverly Hills. But the technical discipline of drafting became the foundation of a visual language that Castaneda would later carry into film. “Every frame is a room,” he says. “Every story is a building. You have to know what holds it up.”

He worked as an editor and PR professional at the Calhoun County Times in Anniston, learning publication from the ground floor. He moved west, worked in digital media at Arch Enemy Entertainment in North Hollywood — marketing Tyrese Gibson’s Mayhem iTunes LP among other projects — and then enrolled in three film programs: College of the Desert, Los Angeles Valley College, and Columbia College Hollywood, where he studied Film and Television Producing. He applied the logic of structural engineering to the craft of storytelling.

The result is an infrastructure that most independent creators never build: a proprietary legal structure (DLHERO LLC → ENTH3 LLC, both Wyoming-registered) that owns 100% of all intellectual property across 2,390 music tracks, 59 albums in 10 languages, a 100-title cinematic universe, 32 custom-built puppet characters, and a 200-episode educational television series. Castaneda holds full professional industry registrations across every major rights and distribution system.

DLHERO Studios — the 501(c)(3) arm — is the public-facing nonprofit that makes his educational mission accessible. Its flagship educational program, DLTUTOR, is a 200-episode K–5 puppet series spanning 10 seasons, covering math, science, reading, social studies, arts, and life skills. The series is designed for community organization distribution, school partnerships, Amazon, and DLHERO.com — built for children who need learning to feel like discovery.

The organizing principle behind everything Castaneda creates is not commercial — it is spiritual. “I am a vessel of honor,” he says, “committed to facilitating a journey for others to find The Truth.” That mission informs every frame of KANEH MOVIE, every episode of DLTUTOR, every lyric of every REVJC album, and every PSA produced for communities that need a voice.

DLHERO Studios is currently seeking grant partnerships, educational distribution agreements, and community PSA collaboration. Press screening of KANEH MOVIE: Rapture@420 is available upon request. The full Studio Bible — 100 developed film projects in the REVJC cinematic universe — is available to qualified press and distribution partners.
